Belvedere Palace is located in Vienna, Austria. This palace is Austria’s one of the well-known art gallery and residence to der Kuss which is called as “The Kiss”. Der Kuss was painted by none other than Gustav Klimt. Oberes Belvedere which is called as the Upper Belvedere and Unteres Belvedere known as the Lower Belvedere in the Palace are the two permanent collections. The Belvedere palace was constructed by Prince Eugene of Savoy during the time of 1714 to 1723. He built this palace as a summer residence for the Prince of Savoy named Eugene. Earlier it was made by the Prince Eugene of Savoy housing the Osterreichische Galerie Belvedere museum.

Exploring the Lower Belvedere, Prince Eugene purchased a plot of land in the year 1697 and created a huge park. Later the work started erecting in 1714 and now it was named as the Lower Belvedere. The Belvedere palace was earlier known as the entertainment villa and its garden was the garden villa but later it became a palace.

Johann Lukas Von Hildebrandt was the architect who made this complex a masterwork. Giovanni Stanetti a Venetian sculptor was the assistant of the architech Johann Lukas.

The Lower Belvedere was completed in the year 1716. The hall is decorated with marbles and painted by Martino Altomonte. Other than this the room also features Prince Eugene’s Apotheosis which was sculpted by Balthasar Permoser. To the west a state bedroom could be seen painted by Jonas Drentwett and to the east you will get the State Dining Room. You can see the wonderful and pleasant scenery of the garden. It was made according to the formal French style.

The Upper Belvedere was constructed during 1720 to 1723. The architect of this Belvedere is none other than Johann Lukas Von Hildebrandt. Its ceilings are painted by Carlo Innocenzo Carlone. This complex was later sold by the prince’s heiress in the year 1752 to Empress Maria Theresa of Austria. Initially, Maria Theresa named this building as “Belvedere”. Further it was extended beneath Habsburgs. On behalf of Joseph II the Belvedere was resided the imperial picture gallery. The compilation of Ambras palace was later shifted to the Lower Belvedere in the year 1806. These were shifted to the museum of Art History named Kunsthistorisches Museum in the year 1890 and the last person who owned and resided in this palace was Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Though the Upper Belvedere has overcome with heavy damage at the time of World War II where the Gold Cabinet was burned and was reconstructed again. It is an honor for the Belvedere palace as it was selected for gold euro commemorative coin. It is an Austrian sculpture coin that was issued on 13 November, 2002.

The two museums have a fantastic collection of Austrian art. The collection varies from the middle Ages up to the Twentieth century. Today, the Upper Belvedere is home to the Austrian Gallery and works by Renoir, Monet, Klimt, Kokoschka and Schiele, whilst the Lower Belvedere houses the Baroque Museum and the Museum of Medieval Austrian Art.

Even you can choose this Belvedere palace for any kind of ceremony and this could be in made at the west wing of the Lower Belvedere or even at the Upper Belvedere. You can enjoy the exotic location across the baroque park.

One is by Air you have to reach Vienna International Airport or if you choose underground rail transportation then you have to reach at Sudtirolerplatz or even Taubstummengasse. Besides this you can even enjoy traveling by using public services trams. To travel by bus all you have to take service to Sudbahnhof.

After buying the tickets you can also enjoy different locations like Oberes Belvedere, Unteres Belvedere, and also the Gustinus Ambrosi Museum. The entrance fee will be nearly 7, 5 Euros for an adult. But one thing you have to keep in mind that you cannot click any kind of pictures in these palaces even though you turn off the flash of your camera. So start clicking your eyes as a camera and store all those pictures in your memory without leaving behind a single site.
