First go and see the Ottoman Opulence in the Gazi Husrev- Bev. This is one of the best kinds of mosques that is found here and this great Islamic complex is a total feast to the eyes. Then visit the Tunnel at Sarajevo and is a structure which was built over a period of six months. This is around 800 meters long and was used by the Muslims in Bosnia, for smuggling supplies when Sarajevo was under siege. They also used to smuggle weapons during the siege. Today the Tunnel Museum is a great monument for the people struggling against genocide.
Then go to the Fine Arts Academy and see this beautiful structure on the River Miljacka. This s one of the best buildings around in this part of the world and is also a place where you would have a great collection. This is the Umjetnicka Akadmija.
Come to the Water of Certain return and drink from this fountain. This is the fountain of Gazi Husref – Bey Mosque. You would never forge this sight. It is a must see for any tourist.
Go to the Bascarsija Market and go and shop to your heart’s content here. This is where you would find the best jewelry and handicrafts along with a lot of clothing too. This place is the venue where a lot of artisans sell their ware and they also showcase the best local wares available.
Bosnian cuisine is a great fare so come to Sarajevo and enjoy the food here. Eating out here in the land of Sarajevo is something all gourmands would certainly love. The entire taste is in sync with the diverse history that is prevalent here. Vegetarians and lovers of fish would certainly love to have their best tastes here.
Travelers normally go to Grbavica where they have a lot of real and authentic eateries. There are many Italian restaurants here which are a little expensive but can be afforded all the same.
Then go to the Turkish quarter in this land of Bascarsija and then go down the historical lanes which have a lot of restaurants and cares. These places are the best places to visit if you have come to Sarajevo to enjoy and have fun.
Otherwise you can also street stands and has a great variety of dishes. The cevabi is the main dish here. This is the local kebab. Then you have the filo pastry with meat stuffed into them. This is the burek. This is much more reasonable than a sit down meal. This makes a great snack.
Come to Sarajevo at night which is completely full of activity and has a lot f places which reflect the city’s tradition and culture. The banks of the River Miljaka is the best place where you can get to see the best sights.
