Heysels plateau also known as Atomium situated at the north side of Brussels between Stuyvenbergh and royal estates of Laeken and Chaissee Romaine. King Leopold II wanted urbanization near the surroundings of the royal palace by building this monument. So he started a program and started purchasing land and within twenty years of span time it reached a spare of influence within 200 hectares and after that they left it to the Belgian state after his death in 1909.
