Heysels plateau also known as Atomium situated at the north side of Brussels between Stuyvenbergh and royal estates of Laeken and Chaissee Romaine. King Leopold II wanted urbanization near the surroundings of the royal palace by building this monument. So he started a program and started purchasing land and within twenty years of span time it reached a spare of influence within 200 hectares and after that they left it to the Belgian state after his death in 1909. Grand Place is one of the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. It is treated as heart of Brussels. Atomium, Mennenken Pis and Grand Place are most important tourist sites in Brussels. Surrounded by the city’s Town Hall, Bread house and Guildhalls it is located at the central square of the Brussels. The early evaluation of Grand place started in the 10th century with the starting of markets around it. At the banks of Senne River a fort named Saint Gery was constructed by the Duke of Lower Lotharingia, this basically was the origin of Brussels. It is one of the famous landmarks in Brussels and is also known as Petit Julien in French. It is a fountain made up of bronze showing a naked little boy urinating into the fountain’s basin. It was placed in the year 1618 and was designed by Jerome Duquesnoy. It is located at the junction point of Rue de l Etuve. To reach at this spot one should take left lane from Brussels Town Hall from the Grand Place and a walk able distance of few hundred meters to reach the spot it will be visible on the left corner.
